AN EMBASSY FROM COCHIN-CHINA.
According to a Switch newspaper, the Annani uOecliin China), Embassy lately arrived in IVria is composed of the following high dignitaries : —Pguzen-Aud-Boaa. Their dress is described fis somewhat peculiar. It consists of a long gown with white silk sleeves, on which. Httimala and fantastical deaigns* a.re embroidered. A girdle adorned with precious htonts the vvnist. The hair, which is pl<'.iti d ",cn chignon,'•' is hidden by ;* little hltck cap, covered with gold both sides a wijng, pjse root in length, protrudes in ;. homonlal direction. These wings aro yf embroidered in gold. High Chinese boots complete the costume. The other Annanites belong to the lower five classes of mandarins, and are dressed in black silk. On the chest a tiger or crane is embroidered. The cap has no wings, and is ornamented in silver. Pguzen-Aud-Doaa a a man of letters ; he is, therefore, permitted to allow the nails of hi; ieft hand to grow; they are feu:' inches in length. This high func'vionafy is Commander of the Legion of Honor.
