LONDON MARKETS. The mail via San Francisco brings London advices to March 28th. The following is Messrs Miles Bros, and Co.'s colonial produce report of that date : WOOL. During the past week the wool market has been scarcely so active as it wai the iirst three weeks of the series, buyers having satisfied their more pressing wants. Biddings on the part of the French, as well as our home trade, are less animated, and only superfine Port Phillip's, good sound combiDg wool, lambs, and the better qualities of cross-bred, maintain their value, lower descriptions being weaker, especially inferior Sydney and Adelaide grease, which is about per lb lower since the opening. By the new Tariff Bill, which has been reported to the American House of Representatives, the classi fication of wool is abolished ; the duty on all kinds is made 35 per cent., and;on woollenigoods 50 per cent, ad valorem. These sales will terminate on the sth prox., but no date has been fixed for the commencement of the second series, for which the arrivals to date are : Bales. New South Wales and Queensland... 17,690 Victoria 62.971 South Australia 21,712 Western Australia 2390 Tasmania 2,150 New Zealand 2(i,572 Cape of Good Hope 12,000 Total 145,985 WHEAT AND FLOUR. Although there have been some slight fluctuations in the wheat market, and, owing to warlike rumours, several holders have asked rather more money, yet the trade generally is very dull, and buyers will only operate to any considerable extent when cheap parcels are obtainable. Californian wheat in our market is making sss to 5Cs per -19f)lbs, and Adelaide 60s to tils. Cargoes of Californian for June and July shipment can be got at about 49s tjd per 5001 b, cost, freight, and insurance to the United Kingdom, gross weight, bags as whe.t; b.l. weight final, and which in most cases leaves a loss of 1 per cent. to 1} per cent, compared with the outport. The same quality on passage has sellers at 525, and cargoes near at hand at 545. Australian, prompt shipment, 51s, and on p.ssago, near at hund, 5Ss ; ana for iron vessels 6d to Is move money is asked. New Zealand flour may be quoted at from 30s to 3is per 2801bs. TALLOW AND HIDES. The tallow market has been very flnj since tho 151 b instant, with a limited demand for nil sorts. Australian has declined in value about <>d for best, the present quotation for good to fine Now Zealand mutton being Ids to 40s 3d, ant l>eef tallow 38s to tid for first and middling, and inferior descriptions at proportionate rates. The stock of Australian to-day in first hands is about 8200 casks. Hides continue in limited demand, and the value to-day for best heavy New Zealandoxis 4§d to s|d, and iight os and cow hides lid to 4|d per lb. PKESEiIVJiD BEAT. Philadelphia, and the following week, at London, 580 quarters of beef were received from New York, while atLiverpool 200 tons 489 quarters of beef and 120 carcases of sheep were landed from New York, and, from Philadelphia, 1263 quarters of beef, 135 carcases of sheep, and 183 of pigs. Bank rate raised to-day from 2 per cent, to 3 per cent.
