The Customs duties collected here on Tuesday, April 30th, amounted to £1472 2s lid. The items were as follows Wines, £l9 13s 2d; spirits, £486 9s 9d; ale, in bottle, £96 12s 6d ; tobacco, £65 12s 6d; tea, £34 17s 6d; sugar, £B7 6s 7d; goods by weight, £62 Os 5s j ad valorem, £577 1% 0d; other duties, £4112s 6d. Statement showing the amount of Customs duties collected at the Port of Lyttelton from the Ist to the 30th April, 1878 (both dates inclusive) £ s. d. Spirits, 12s per gallon 6407 3 10 Ditto (distilled in New Zealand) 6s per gallon 36 4 10 Cigars and snuff, 5s per lb 269 18 5 Tobacco, 2s 6d per lb 1679 17 6 Wine, 4s per gallon 697 3 8 Ale and beer (in bottle).
