The Customs duties collected here on Thursday, April 18th, amounted to £570 14s 6d. The items were as follows Spirits, £196 5s 2d ; wine, £2l; tobacco, £B3 7s 6d; tea, £32 7s 6d ; coffee, £2 7s 9d; sugar, £l2O 19s 8d: ad valorem. £B3 14s; goods by Weight, £22 17s lid ; other duties, £7 15s, At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board held on Thursday, April 18th, 3784 acres 3 roods were disposed of, realising £7576 9s sd. The land la situated as under Ashley, 501 acres •, Selwyn, gi acres 2 roods | Akaroa, 94 acres; Ashburton, 8139 acres 1 rood j Geraldine, 905 acres j Wuimato, 91 acres. LIVE STOCK MARKET. Mr E. W. Roper reports on his weekly Saturday Sale of 20th April ‘—Horses—This market continues very dull, light draught and hacks fetching very low values. Cattle—4l head yarded. Milch cows ate in great demand, medium fetching £ll to £7 10s ; calves and young stock are feeling the depression from want of feed. Pigs -80 head yarded ; voices are improving, excepting suckers and weauers. Poultry-Fowls, 2s to 4s 6d per pair; ducks, 3s 3d to 4s 6d ; geese, 5s 9d to 7s 6d j turkeys, Bocks, 7s each; do, hens, 9s per pair. Vehicles, furniture, and miscellaneous goods fetched good
