has been running in the West Coast and China trade, is ten years old, and was bnilt by Messrs A. Stephens and Son, of Glasgow, who constructed the Piako, Opawa, and Wanganui, and is one of the White Star line, owned by Isma.y, Imno and Co. The passage has shown the vessel possesses good sailing qualities, she having made the run from the Downs to anchorage in eighty-nine days, and from land to land in eighty-three days. She Gravesend on January 2nd, anchoring at the Downs same day, and remaining there till the 7th when she sailed. Had N.W. wind light at starting, and then str mg W.S.W. for two days, taking final departure from the Lizard on the 10th at 4 a.m. Had E.N E. weather across the Bay and favorable winds to Equator, which was crossed twenty-two days out in longitude 27.19 W., there being no N.B. trades. 1 1 about 8 S .uth experienced fresh S.E. trades. They carried the vessel to 25.9 S., and 31.19 W. 1 hence to meridian of the Capo, which was parsed on March 2nd; had very variable and sq' nlly weather, which prevented the ship making a rapid passage. Ran down easting hot ween the 15th and 18th parallels, and made the Snares on Wednesday last. Had light battling weather up the coast, making the Peninsula at noon on Friday, ■end arriving at anchorage as above. _ The following ships were spoken dunng the passage:— Glencairn, ship, from Liverpool to Sydney, 46 days out, in 32,20 S., on February 14th. Bremen barque, Lima on February 17th, in 34 S. : and up afterwards the barque Hope. North Riding, ship, from London to Adelaide, 19 days out, in latitude 1.33 N., on January 28th. River Avon, ship, from Cardiff to Moreton Bay, in 45 S„ on March 11th, 61 days out.
