The Customs duties collected here on Tuesday, Bth March, amounted to £587 11s Id. The items were Spirits, £19412s 2d ; wine, £23 19s 6d ; ale (inbottle), £8 8s 9d; tobacco, £173 15s; tea, £ls 13s Cd; sugar, £BO 17s; goods by weight, £1 3s lid; ad valorem, £24165; other duties, £154 15s 3d. NEW ZEALAND MARKETS, The “North Otago Times” mentions that on Monday a very large transaction was concluded for strain of the new season’s crop, Messrs Fleming and Hedley being the vendors, and Messrs F. Cunningham and Co. the purchasers. The quantity sold in one line was from 80,000 to 100,000 bushels in all. cf which from 70,000 to 80,000 wei e wheat and the balance oats, grown on the Eskbank estate. The figure obtained is stated to be satisfactory, but the exact price has not transpired.
