AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

ADOPTION OF THE WHOLE ACT. [Br Telegbai'h.] [fbom the coebespondent of the mess.J Akakoa, March 5. " A meeting of the Akaroa County Council was held at Barry's Bay Pass today, all the members being present. The meeting was called in terms of the Act, the chairman having received a requisition to call a meeting to consider the desirability of bringing the Counties Act into full operation. Mr Latter, the chairman, explained all the bearings of tho Act. Mr J. G-ebbie proposed, and Mr Bradley seconded ~" That the Act be adopted in its entirety." On the question being put, the following voted for the resolution :—Messrs Hay, Dalgleisti, G-jbbie, Bradley, Fleming, Priest, and Latter; and the only No was Mr Barker. As the only other business that could be enter!ainod by the meeting was the election of chairman, Mr Barker moved, and Mr Priest seconded—" That Mr Latter bo reelected chairman."

This was unanimously agreed to, and the meeting adjourned until Tuesday, March 12th.
