CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, March 2. » [Before G. L. Hellish, Esq., R.M.] Drunk and Disordkrkt.— Alferd Rad ill, arrested in the South train by Constable Lonergan for being drunk and behaving himself in on offensive manner to the passengers, was fined 20s. Wm. Warner, an old offender, was fined 20s, and cautioned not to appear in Court again. John Sullivan, against whom there was a long list of convictions, was fined 40s. James Pullen was fined 5,8. Create a Disturbance.— Robert F. Shannon charged with creating a disturbance in a licensed house, and breaking a hinge off a door, was ordered to pay Bs, amount of damage. 0. E. St. John was arrested for creating a disturbance. It was found that his conduct was at times eccentric frog* the effects of a sunstroke, and his Worship remanded him for eight days, to allow of a communication being rorwarded to his friends at Akaroa. Inspector Hickson told the Bench that Mr St. John was going to Ids friends in England by a vessel leayin# Lyttelton during the present mq^L^ A Dangerous f/ijuaixo.— X. W. GK Butler was brought up on remand under the Lunatics’ Act. Inspector Hickson aaid he had received a telegram from Invercargill saying Butler had tsepa acting for some time past in n, very eccentric manner, and was latterly In the hab.it of carrying a gun with him whenever he went out. The man had been examined by a number of medical gentlemen, and his Worship committed him to the Asylum o.n their certificate.
