Mails olose at the Chief Post Offloa for the following places as under, subject to neoeasarj alterations : TUESDAY, FEBEUARY 26. For Otago, overland, 11 a in. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m. j railway station, i p.m. train. For Otago, per Taupo, at 3 p.m. j late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, FEUKUAEY 27. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Albion, on or about Thursday, February 28th. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily, on or about March Ist. The next English mail via San Francisoo will close on or about Friday, March Ist, at 1 p.m. Newspapers can be posted in the post office receiving and iron pillar boxes in Christchurch, SIDNEY J. DICJI. Chief Postmaster.
