DUNEDIN TRAINING- NOTES. [By Telegbaph.] [fbom the cobeeßpondent of the rbess.] Dunedin, January 11. To-day's work commenced with a good gallop by Cloth of Gold and Oberon. The former with Wattie up was stripped, while Oberon had part of his clothing on. It was intended that they should bo sent at only half speed, but both horses were so fresh and displayed such eagerness to go that it became a difficult matter to keep them back. The first round outside the hurdles was done in 2irin. losec, and the second in 2min. 14sec. Atlantic joined in at the last three-quarters of a mile, and finished behind the pair. Goodman stripped Chancellor and sent him twice round fast; the colt accomplishing the laat round in 2min. lOsec. Maligner finished the last three quarters of a mile with him, but after the spin seemed to be a little stiff in the near hind leg. Satirist had a quiet canter on the tan. French took Hippocampus in clothing outside the hurdles an easy mile and a half gallop with an occasional spurt for a few hundred yards. Smith sent Swede and the Stormbird Virginia colt twice round in clothing. Kildare stripped and went three miles in good form. [PEB PEESS AGENCY.] BETTING ON THE DUNEDIN CUP. Wellington, February 11. A commission was 9eut from Redwood's stables on Saturday to back Orange Lightning for the Dunedin Cup, and the following wagers have been laid:—2ooo to 60, 1000 to 10, 500 to 10, 500 to 5, 1000 to 20, 300 to 12, 500 to 20, 200 to 80, 200 to 10. On the double of the Cup and Derby the following wagers were were made— Orange Lightning for the Cup and Trump Caid for the Derby, 500 to 4, 300 to 6, 200 to 3, 1000 to 10. Pungawerewere is also backed to win £4OOO.
