NUMBERING THE HOUSES.
To the Editor of the Globe. Pie, —In the report of the sitting of the City Council held on the 14th January last “it was resolved that the resolution of the Council approving of Mr Buck’s plan be advertised with the addition that it was optional with the ratepayers to have their houses numbered.” How is that upwards of three weeks have been permitted to elapse without the above advertisement appearing? This advertisement has been looked forward, to by the citizens as an explanation of under what authority the sum of half-a-crown is demanded from them for the numbering of their houses. It would be a satisfaction to the citizens, and at the same time it would be found materially to asfist the desired object, if they were informed whether the plan in its entirety, price charged, &c., is being carried out by the authority as well as with the approval of the City Council. Yours, &c., PRO BONO PUBLICO. February Sth.
