At a meeting of the Dunedin shareholders of the Greymouth Coal Company resolutions were carried to the effect that the meeting disapproved of the selling of 810 forfeited shares at 50s at present ,• that the directors ought not to be empowered to mortgage the assets ; and. that the capital be increased to the extent of 10s per share. The floods in the Clutha river continue unprecedentedly high. Last night there was a thunder storm with rain. The river is likely to further rise. The damage to property on the low-lying banks is very heavy.
