At the sittings of the Waste Lauds Board yesterday, December 20th, 2842 acres were disposed of, realising £5684. The land was situated as follows Ashley, 7 acres ; Selwyn, 826 acres; Ashburton, 161 acres ; Geraldine, 1248 acres; Waimate, 600 acres. The revenue collected at the Customs on Wednesday, December 19th, amounted to £B2B Os Bd. The following are the items W ines and spirits, £519 19s 2d; ale (in bulk and glass), £136 13s 9d; tobacco, £25 14s ; tea, £29 3s; sugar, £94 16s 9d ; boots, £6 16s; grindery, £8 6s; saddlery, £8 ; fancy goods, £5 18s ; mantlepieces ;£5 4s; sundries, £5 10s. LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), Christchurch, have received the following telegram from London, dated the 16th inst.: — ; Wool—The sales closed at the level of last sales on the 14thinst., during which a good many second hand parcels were offered; 60,000 bales have been taken for export, and 50,000 held over for future disposal. The market for cross-bred is firmer, for superior greasy easier, and for scoured and superior combings washed unchanged. Tallow market is quiet; mutton 40s, and beef 38s 6d per cwt, . Wheat market is quiet, and foreign arrivals heavy. Adelaide is worth 66s per. 496 lbs, and New Zealand 50s per 496 lbs. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Wellington, December 20.
