The schooner Josephine, Captain O’Connell, arrived from Oamaru last evening. She is bound for Wellington, but put in here wind-bound. The schooner Spray arrived from Kaikouras Peninsula last evening, after a smart passage of five days from Lyttelton to return. The XXX, ketch. Captain Donovan, left Auahau, Golden Bay, on Monday, December 17th, at 6.30 a.m.; passed Stephens’ Island at 3 p.m. same day with a strong N.W. wind ; at 6 p.m. the wind increased to a gale, which caused the vessel to put into Port Gore for shelter; left again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, 18th ; passed the Brothers at noon and Cape Campbell at 5 p.m. same day with a northerly wind; at 6 a.m. on 19th was off Kaikouras Peninsula, when the wind fell to a calm; at 7.30 a.m. same day passed the Hurunui with a northerly breeze, which held till arrival in harbor at 3 a.m. yesterday. ________________ .SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, December 21. The Taupo sailed for the South yesterday evening. Passengers for Lyttelton—Mrs Symonds, Mrs Houiss, Mr and Mrs Barton, and Mr Lally. Nelson, December 21. The Taranaki left for the South last night. Passengers for Lyttelton—Miss Leighton, Miss Gray, Mias Robert, and Mr T. Wright.
