AQUATICS.

C.R.C. SENIOR AND JUNIOR PAIRS. The rowing for the prizes presented for the senior and junior pairs of the C.R.C. took place yesterday, when several heats were got off. The rowing was fairly good, though some of the races were but indifferently contested. The final heats will be rowed this evening. We append the [results of yesterday's racing:— Sbniob Paib-oabed Race ; one mile. TIBST HEAT. Tui (Ollivier and Lean) ... 1 Moa (Duncan and Snow) ... 2 The Tui was quickest away, going at a hot pace, and after about a hundred yards had been gone they had a lead of a length. Off Herdson's the Moa decreased this somewhat, but was unable to hold, her advantage, and the Tui won by a length and a half. SECOND HEAT. Tui (Lanauze and Paul) ... 1 Moa (Grierson and Hawkes) ... 2 The Tui got the best of the start, and took the lead by about half a length, which she held until nearing Herdson's, when LaNauze spurted and got on even terms. Rounding Cowlishaw's corner Lanauze took the lead after a very fine race up the reach, and ultimately won by a length. THIBD HEAT. Moa (Pavitt and Evans) .. I Una (Buchanan and Taylor) ... 2 Thiß was a very hollow race, and does not require very much description. Soon after the start the Moa took the lead, which she held to the finish, the other boat ceasing pulling. Juniob Paib-oabed Race ; one mile. FIEST HEAT. Una (Fooks and Spencer) 1 Tyne (Smith and Farr) 2 The Una took the lead at the start, and won easily. SECOND HEAT. Una (Bassett and Smith) • ■ 1 Syren (Johnston and Bolton) ... 2 The Syren went away with the lead, but about a hundred yards bad been gone the Una came away with a rush and got a lead of about two lengths, which she kept to the finish. The final heats will be rowed this evening.
