The revenue collected at the Customs or Wednesday amounted to £1124 Is 8d The following were the items:—Wine and spirits, £ll7 17s 6d : tobacco, £43 17s 6d; tea, £123 17s; sugar, £271 9s lid- currants. £4 19s 2d; jams, £5 14s; hops, £26 12s 6d; drapery, £149 10s ; boots, £lO 14s; leather, £5; jewellery, £4O 8s ; saddlery, £ j 10s ; stationery and fancy goods, £B4 6s ; sundries, £230 0s Id. At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board yesterday, 5838 acres 1 rood were disposed of, realising £11,883 lis. The land was situated as follows: Ashley, 459 acres ; Selwyn, 4919 acres ; Ashburton, 162 acres; Geraldine, 196 acres; Waimate, 100 acres ; town of Ashburton, 2 roods; town of South Bakaia, 3roods ; town of Geraldine, 1 rood; town of Arowhenna, 3 roods.
