[By Telegraph.] [per press agency.] HOUSE OE REPRESENTATIVES. Wednesday, November 21. The House met at 7.30. BOROUGH ENDOWMENTS. In asking the Minister of Lands for Mr O’Rorke (who was in the chair), what steps have been taken, or arc intended to be taken to confer upon the unendowed borough oi the Thames endowments such as are proposed to be conferred on Kaiapoi, Lyttelton and Akaroa under the 350th clause of The Municipal Corporations Act, IM7O, Mr Rowe said if there were no lands available in Auckland, they would have no objection to taking lands in Otago or Canterbury. Mr Macandrew, in reply, said that certain lands in Auckland had been indicated as a suitable endowment, and would bo granted as soon as the Native title was extinguished. NEW BILLS. Maori Real Estate Management Act Amendment Bill (Sheehan), Wyndham Show Ground Reserve Bill (Wood), Whangaric Point Endowment Bill (Douglas). martin’s bay. On the motion of Mr Mandeks, it was resolved to go into Committee on a future day for an address for £IOOO to remove the rock: at the entrance of Martin’s Bay and improving the approaches to the harbor. QUEENSTOWN AND CROMWELL RAILWAY. Mr Mandeks moved to set aside 200,000 acres land for railway from Queenstown to Cromwell. Mr, Macandrew said the land there was not likely to he sold at present, and the Government would consider this line with others. The motion was withdrawn. THE CORPORATIONS BILL. Mr J. C. Brown, for Mr Stout, moved for an address for £3OO, to partially recoup the Dunedin City Council the expenses incurred in drafting the Municipal Corporation Bill of last session. Mr Larnach; stated that the Government must oppose the motion, as the Corporation had not been asked to prepare the Bill. Mr Reynolds said the Corporation believed their Bill was used by the Government in drafting (heir Corporations Bill. Mr Rn iiardson said this was not the ease. After further discussion, the motion was negatived. GREY MOUTH AND COBDEN BRIDGE. Mr Woodcock moved that the House go into committee on Wednesday next to consider an address for £IO,OOO to bridge the Grey river between Greymouth and Cobdeu. Mr Shrimski thought this was a county matter. Mr Reynolds said the colony could not possibly afford to enter on such works. Mr Larnach said the Government could only say they were alive to the necessity for this and similar works, but all that they would promise was that during the recess they would carefully consider how best such works could be done. They would give their best attention to this. Mr Seymour urged the necessity of including such bridges as this in the scheme of public works, and was glad the Government proposed to consider this. After further discussion the motion was agreed to. COUNTY ENDOWMENTS. The debate on Mr Murray’s motion for an endowment to counties was resumed. Mr Gisborne thought the endowments should be from tho lands within the county endowed. He moved, therefore, the omission of the words “where possible” in the first resolution. This was agreed to, the clause being altered so that the endowment should bo from lands within the Provincial district. The discussion on the second resolution was interrupted.
