INTERPROVINCIAL.
Blenheim, November 6. The town was clear of flood yesterday. A piece at the north end of the bridge was acting as a breakwater, throwing the current on the south bank, which was in danger. The Council met and decided to send the Mayor to Wellington, to put a temporary ferry for passengers and chop down piece of wreck at the north end of the bridge at once. It is feared it is too late, as if the south bank gives way first immense damage will ensue. Dunedin, November 6. The tender of Messrs McGill and Forest, *or £13,887, has been accepted for the erection of the University main buildings. The High School Commission report has been signed by Messrs Fraser and Pearson, and forwarded to Christchurch for Mr Tanr cred’s signature.
