Dunedin, November 2. Mr Lcary, ex-Mayor, addressed a largely attended meeting of citizens last night, and explained fully his reasons for resigning hie position as Mayor. The meeting was rather noisy, and ended without any resolution being put as to the candidate's fitness for office. The total amount received here up to the present date for the Indian Famine Relief Fund, is £1796 7s 6d. The Opera Company arrived yesterday morning, and will open at the Princess Theatre to-morrow night in " II Trovatore."
