The Land Tax Bill introduced in the Assembly provides for the appointment of three commissioners to act as a Court of summary jurisdiction; also, for the appointment of classifiers. The Bill was read a second time by a largo majority. The Roman Catholics all over the country are petitioning against the Education Bill. Owing to a decision of the Supreme Court that appointment s to the Harbor Trust made by the Grovernor in Council are illegal, the whole past proceedings of the Board are invalidated, and require a special Act.
