The barque Hopeful was towed into the stream yesterday ready for sea. The Jane Elkin was taken up on Grubb s Slip yesterday for repairs. The Esther and Arthur Wakefield hence, arrived at Nelson on Sunday last. Messrs Cuff and Graham have received a telegram from Hokitika stating that the Clio, schooner, ■which left Lyttelton for that port some time ago, grounded on the bar whilst the tug was endeavoring to tow her in, and that her position was one of considerable jeopardy. It is thought that, owing to the spring tides and the prevalence of westerly winds lately, the bar will soon be workable. The smart little s.s. Tni, Captain Wills, arrived at 12.30 a.m. yesterday. She left Wellington at 7 p.m. on the sth, arrived at Kaikouras at 8 a.m. on the 6th, sailed again at 2 p.m., and was berthed at the Breastwork as above stated. After discharging a considerable quantity of cargo, she sailed last night shortly after 6 p.m., as usual, full, some cargo having to be shut out.
