A Russian official despatch says that repeated attacks by the Turkish forces have been repulsed with heavy loss. Osinan Pasha reports having repulsed a reconnaissance force at Plevna. Bombay, August 24,1:2.15 p.m. A Russian official despatch says Snlieman, with forty battalions, renewed the attack on the Shipka "Pass on the 21st, but were repulsed, fighting pi'oceeding after dark. The Turks under Hoftcha simultaneously advanced ou Selvi. The result was unknown. The Russians are preparing for a winter campaign.
