THE WRECK OF THE QUEEN BEE.

DEMONSTRATIONS IN NELSON. Nelson, August 13, 8 p.m. There was a great demonstration this afternoon in connection with the rescue of the passengers by the ship Queen Bee. The Volunteers and the seamen and marines of the Sappho paraded in Trafalgar street at the foot of Church Hill,on which at least 2000 people assembled. The Bishop of Nelson, on behalf of the community, addressed them in complimentary terms on their readiness to turn out and search for the missing people, and then handed to the representatives of the different crews and to individuals who had gone out in their own boats, resolutions passed at the Wreck Relief Committee expressive of the thanks of the community for the services they had rendered. The whole ceremony passed off most successfully. Subscriptions are being raised to aid those who have lost their all. It is calculated that at least £SOO will be required.
