The Judge has granted Mr Stout’s application for a special jury for Mrs Reid, whose trial is fixed for the 12th. John Ferguson and Thomas Williams, convicted at last session of assault, were sentenced to two months. There is nothing of interest in the charge. Margaret Ryan and Honora Sheehan have been arrested as accomplices in the case against Bridget Ryan for abandoning a child. A woman was sentenced, in the Police Court, to three months’ imprisonment for passing an imitation bank note, being a business advertisement. The Bench said the issue of these notes tended to crime.
