The Customs revenue collected on Wednesday amounted to ,£706 16s, as follows: —Spirits, £lßl 16s 3d'; wine, £29 14s 6d; beer, £9l; tea, £157 15s jsugar, £4B 2s 7cl; oilman's stores,£35 9s 3d; tobacco, £77 12s 6d; drapery, £4; boots, £l4; grindery, £lB 16s 2d; confectionery, £7 19s; drugs, £6 10s; hardware, £8 12s 9d; glass, £3 18s; saddlery, £lO 14s; sundries, £lO 16s. The land sold at the Waste Lands Board yesterday amounted to 2773 acres 3 roods, realising £5547 10s, situated in the following counties : Selwyn, 1322 acres 3 roods; Akaioa, o acres : Ashburton, 1401 acres; Greraldine, 20 acres; Waimate, 25 acres. LAND SALES. Messrs H. Matson and Co., at their rooms yesterday, at 2 p.m. on account of Mr T. I). Jones, offered for sale by auction ten building plots, being part of rural section No. 69, and having frontages to Ferry and Nursery roads. The attendance was fair, but as buyers would not speculate the whole was withdrawn. Also on account Mr Thos. Heneley six building sites with frontages on Cambridge, Nursery, and Matheson's roads, only one with two-roomed house erected thereon being placed for £IOO, Mr W. Attwood, purchaser. The remainder was also withdrawn. THE WOOL MAEKET. (FROM OUR OWN COBEESPONDENT.) Duttedin, May 31. A cable telegram received here from London, and dated May 27th, says the Continental demand has fallen off. Superior greasy has declined a half-penny to a penny per lb. For combing and washed the market is easier.
