A special meeting of the South British Insurance shareholders is to be held in July to consider the subject of increasing the capital by 12,500 shares at 30 shillings premium, to be offered to shareholders at the rate of one new for three present shares, making the total shares 50,000, the subscribed capital £IOO,OOO, the paid up capital £IOO,OOO, tire reserve fund £58,750, and to alter the rule preventing a dividend of more than ten per rent per annum premiums; the sale of the new issue to be added to the reserve fund. Wellington, May 29. The City Council to-day, after a long discussion as to the wharf tenders, resolved that the tender of McKirdy, Wellington, should be accepted.
