Serious Gun Accident at Timaru,
TnrARU, May 24
The Tradcsmens' Amateur Athletic Sports to-day were a great success. There Avas a large number of people on the ground. At the Artillery company's firing to-day a young man named Wallace was seriously injured. He misunderstood the order given, and was proceeding to load the gun when it was fired. The whole of the right forearm was blown away, and the left arm completely shattered. His face and eyes were severely scorched. Ho was conveyed to the Hospital where he lies in a precarious state. Alexander Anderson, an old and well-known resident at Parcora, died this morning. The Eev. Mr Gillies lias stated that he has instructed his solicitor to take proceedings re charges made against him regarding his refusal to bury the late Mr Fulton.
