This morning, Thomas Brown, prisoner on remand for stealing watches from Mr Duncan's store, hanged himself at the gaol. The act was a most deliberate one. He took the opportunity of breakfast time to remain behind in his cell af ew minutes, got a piece of rope used to tie the balding, lixod it over the door, got on a l'ools?!:)l, look oil' liis hoofs, and kicked the stool away. Five minutes afterwards the warder missing him, went in search, and found him dead. An inquest will be held tomorrow.
