INTEEPROVINCIAL. [per press agency.] Auckland, May 18. The only additional particulars rc the Ocean Mail are as follows :—-The vessel was wrecked on the 19th of March on the northwest side of the Chatham main island. A portion of the wool is on shore. The vessel’s bow is out- of the water, but the rest of her hull is submerged. It was blowing a heavy gale from the south-east at the time of the wreck. Wellington, May 18. The Government Gazette announces that the Governor in Council has fixed the following schedules as to the pay and travelling allowances of the Armed Constabulary Sergeant-major, 10s ; sergeant Ist class, 9s 6d; 2nd class, 9s; 3rd class, 8s 6d. Constables — Ist class, 8s; 2nd class, 7s 6d; 3rd class, 7s. Detectives —Ist class, 12s; 2nd class, 11s; 3rd class, 10s. Non-commissioned officers and constables in the reserve division to receive a Is per diem less than the above rates. The travelling allowances of non-commissioned officers and constables are fixed at 6s per diem.
