Titan, ready for sea, and the Clematis shifted from No. 3 to Peacock’s Wharf, to load grain. The ship Auckland will finish her loading tomorrow. She had over 13,000 sacks aboard last night. No time is being lost in working the Opawa, the N.Z.S. Company being determined to despatch her at her advertised date (Saturday, May 12th) with their accustomed punctuality, and work went on aboard till 10 p m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the afterpart of the vessel wanted clearing, so that she could take in grain, over 1000 sacks of which are already aboard, as well as b6o bales of wool. The whole of her cargo is in Lyttelton. Captain Tatchell’s handsome little ship has now nearly completed her loading, and when another 100 hales have been received aboard it will be time to block off the hatches and send the May Queen on her way homo. The barque Harrison left B unbury, W.A., with a cargo of timber for this port on March 23rd, but owing to stress of weather had to put hack to \ Freemantle on the 31st, in such a leaky condition ; that it was considered improbable she would he ] able to resume her voyage. Her cargo will, in I this case, most probably be at once transhipped to | another vessel and forwarded here. Allusion has already been made to the repairs ( which have been made to the barque Especulador. I These have now been completed, and she is in | far better order than she ever was since she j| ceased to fly the “ Stars and Stripes.” The j whole of her topsides have been replaced, and her ij waterways arc also now; her wales have been | scraped bright, and found in good order, after a j rigid inspection, and her decks caulked. The | •work has been completed in the most satisfactory manner by Messrs Grubb and Co.
