MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.

(Before Sir Craeroft Wilson, H, P. Murray-ray-Aynsley, and John Anderson, Esq rs, J.P.’s.] Drunk and Disorderly.— Albert Chatband was fined 20s, and James Faulkner £2. Five inebriates who appeared for the first time were each fined ss.
Incendiarism. —Thomas King, brought up on this charge, was further remanded until Tuesday. Affiliation, —The adjourned case against William Meikleham was further remanded until Tuesday. Threatening Language, —The adjourned summons case against James Campbell, for using threatening language, was called on. The complainant did not appear, and the case was dismissed.
Vagrancy.— John Williams, a colored man, was brought up on this charge. Accused had beca arrested iu a whare near Cashmere on Saturday evening. It was shown that he had been in the habit for some time past of wandering about the Halswell district at all hours of the day and night, frightening both women and children, and, from his vagaries, was believed not to be in his right mind. The Bench remanded him until Tuesday morning for medical examination.
