AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
The usual monthly meeting of the committee of the association was held at 230 p.m. Thursday. Present—Hon John Hall (in the chair), Messrs Fantham, Norman, J. Anderson, jun, A. Duncan, VV. Henderson, ond II Wilkin.
The secretary reported on the state of the reserve fund, and also that the books of the association were made up and balanced for audit. A report of the eub committee of the association, appointed to consider the best means to extend the membership of the association, was read, recommending that rule 3 of the association be altered, so that in future all members should be proposed by one member, and seconded by the other. It also recommended that the committee should use their best endeavors to get subscribers, and that the secretary be paid a commission on all subscriptions collected by him. On the motion of Mr Henderson, it was resolved that the suggestion as to the alteration of the rule should be approved, and recommended for adoption to the general meeting in March next. On the motion of Mr Duncan, it was resolved that the secretary receive a commission of 10 per cent on all subscriptions collected by himself, but not on those collected by the committee. A list of books recommended by the general committee for purchase for the library was read and agreed to. Messrs Aikman and Inglis were requested to be kind enough to audit the books of the asso ciation. Messrs Anderson, Duncp-n, and Wilkin were appointed as a sub-committee to prepare the annual statement of accounts for presentation at the annual general meeting of members. The date of the annual meeting was fixed. The president and MrJ.T Ford were appointed to draw up the annual report. Messrs Norman, Henderson, Wilkin, Ford, Maun, Ferguson, and Alport were appointed as a sub-committee to make arrange ments for the RamFaic. It wasresolved,“That a sub committee, consisting of Messrs Wilkin, Ford, and Henderson, be appointed to value the property of the association, with a view to forming a capital account.
