MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday, February 22. (Before G. L. Hellish, Esq, R.M.) Assault. —Daniel Anstensau, , summoned for assaulting Henry Smith, did not appear. It was shown that defendant was away from home when the summons was served, and his Worship allowed the case to stand over for a week. Protection Order. —Lydia White applied for a protection order for her earnings against her husband, F. White, and also for maintenance for herself and family. His Worship said he would let the matter stand, over until Saturday, with a view to some arrangement being made between the parties. Drunk and Disorderly. —Patrick Ryan charged with being drunk and creating a disturbance at the Addington immigration depot was fined 20s. Robert Hunter arrested for a similar offence, and who had also violently .resisted Constable Brooks, was fined 40s. A female inebriate, who appeared for the first time, was fined ss. George Brown, who had been arrested for drunkenness, while in charge of a horse and cart, did not answer to his bail when called, and his Worship ordered a notice to be issued on his surety.
