NEWS OF THE DAY.

Immigrants ex Wiltshire.—These immigrants were landed yesterday afternoon in the a.a Titan, and were sent on to Addington by the 3.20 p,m train. Fifty destined for Timaru are still aboard the ship, but we understand they proceed there per rail this day. Boat for Wangantji.—By the s s Taranaki a very handsome skiff, 27ft long, was aent to Wanganui for the Kowing Club there, to use as a practice boat. Mr M. Miller, of Lvttdton, is the boat builder, and we must compliment him on the very handsome vessel he has built. Chrustchurch Artillkry.—-It is notified elsewhere that there will be no drill tonight, in consequence of the prize tiring at Holdtika and Hillsborough. On Friday evening the monthly inspection will be held in the Park. The Major Commanding the district has ordered out the guns, with blank cartridge. Cricket.—There was a very good batting practice last evening, and a great improvement in the play is perceptible as the ground becomes more lively. All the town members of the eighteen were practising, with the exception of Ashby and D'Emden, who were detained by business. It was decided to postpone the election of a captain until all the members were present. We think this is a mistake, as the captain should have every opportunity of learning how to place and change his men for the various bowling, so as nut to give the fieldsmen unnecessary labor in crossing over. Mr Bteveus was elected to take charge of the practices in the meantime. We hope to see some fielding practice by the eighteeH, as, although they may be able to pick up a ball neatly, this will be of no value unless it is returned to the wicket quickly and well. We should also like to see them practice long catches.

Queer Feelings—Odd sensations in yarious parts of the body particularly in the heid and lower extremities, which do not amount to actual pain, hut are, upon the whole, rather worse, trouble many persons. Almost invariably they proceed from nervousness and weakness, A few doses of that nervine and invigoraut, Udolpho Wolfe's Schidam Aromatic Schnapps invariably dispel all such queer feelings and establish nerfect bodily comfort and tranquility.— [ADVT.J
