ALL-ENGLAND v NELSON.

The Cricket Match Ail England v Nelson, began this afternoon, the Englishmen going to the wickets; Oharlwood and Jupp were the first to proceed to the wickets, and when the luncheon hour arrived were still in. On resuming they kept the field busy till a quarter lo 4, when Oharlwood was cleverly caught at wicket by Cross off Fowler, after ruuning 38. One for 52. Selby took his place, and he and Jupp remained in till stumps were drawn at sis, when the score was 142 ; Jupp, not out, 30 ; Selby, not out, 68 ; wides, 8 ; byes, 2, The bowling throughout was good and so was the fielding, but the batting was too good ; the ground being in splendid condition was in favor of batsmen, who could calculate to a nicety on the movements of the ball, Play will be resumed at noon to-morrow.
Nelson, February 15. This is another beautiful day for the match. At 12.20 Jupp and Selby resumed their places at the wickets, T. Eden and Fowler bowling for an hour. They kept together, but the bowling was so good that they only made 9 runs, when Jupp knocked down his wicket in playing a ball from Eden—lsl—2—34. Greenwood joined Selby, and shortly after the latter was given out 1.b.w., bowled Eden after making a splendid'score of 82—three for 170. Ulyett took his place, and the two were knocking the balls about in style, when they adjourned to lunch at two, the score then being 194.
