ALL ENGLAND ELEVEN V WELLINGTON TWENTY-TWO. [By Telegraph.] (From a correspondent of the Press.') Wednesday, the third day of the AllEngland match, was even worse in the morning than the day before, rain falling heavier and continuously. However, it cleared up about noon, and play commenced at 3.45, with Charlwood joining Selby the “not-out,” Cross and Dorrington bowling. Gross began with a wide; two singles were then scored off Dorrington, Charlwood cutting in splendid style. Selby cut one to on. Charlwood made another good cut. Selby was then caught at the wicket by Mace off Dorrington for a well played 20. Ulyett came next, the score being two for 47. Charlwood then hit Cross over the boundary to square leg for 4, adding two more singles; then a fine drive to the off under the ropes off Dorrington, and a maiden to Cross Ulyett then hit Dorrington hard against the boundary flag, but only got 1. Charlwood made a grand cut for 3. Ulyett soon followed suit with a splendid on drive—Bo now went up. J. J. Salmon went on at Dorrington’s end, Chariwood scored him much the same, hitting him for 3 to the boundary; a bye followed. Ulyett then’hit Cross clean over the boundary for 4 (worth 7 on the Oval)—9o up. Cross, who was bowling very well, now sent down another maiden; two singles followed. Cross then bowled Ulyett’s leg stump with a trimmer for a well played 16. Greenwood now came, beginning, 1 with 1 off Cross; a maiden to Salmon. Charlwood, who was well in, cut Cross for 3, 1 to Greenwood, Owing to the bad fielding Charlwood added two singles. Kaye was now substituted for Salmon. His first was a wide. Greenwood and Charlwood each added I from his next 2 100 now went up, just as his Excellency the Governor arrived, who was cheered by the Twenty-two. The rain kept off, and things looked brighter. Charlwood then made a cut to the pavilion for 3 off Cross. Greenwood followed with 3 to leg off Kaye, to the ropes ; two byes; another 3 to leg for Greenwood, who judged his hits very well, and a maiden for Cross followed. Kaye then bowled Greenwood with a break back long hop for 9 four for 115. Emmett was next bat; his stay was short, for after scoring a single Cross lowered his stumps with a shooterfive for 119. Armitage was next, who got a single off Kaye, and drove him for 1. Then Charlwood cut the same bowler for 2 Another maiden followed from Cross, who was vi ell on the spot. Charlwood then got two doubles off Kaye. Armitage then got 1 to leg, but lua next hit was an easy catch to Mason at short leg, dismissing him for only 3. Pooley followed. Charlwood then made a splendid 4 to leg oat of the boundary from Cross. Pooley did not seem to like the hanging ground, as ho missed a great many leg chaucesi Chari-

He soon got Cross n,o square leg out of rh ground for 4, and to the boundary for 3 Armitage was put ou to bowl now at Kaya’o end, sending down a maiden. The first.ball of Cross’s next over bowled Hill for 9, Lillywhite was eighth man, and soon got a 3 to ropes and two singles, and Pooley played out the lime, the stumps being drawn at 6, The following is the score A. There was some talk of playing to-morrow as Hutt races are postponed, but of this I am nut sure. Should they play, the Eleven will probably win in one innings. There were about 300 people present.
