PRINTING THE PRESIDENT’S ADDRESS.
The Very Rev the Dean moved —“ That the thanks of the Synod be given to the President for the address just read, and that he be requested to allow it to be printed,” He felt sure the Synod would address themselves to the work before them to the glory of God and the prosperity of the diocese. Sir Crackoft Wilson seconded the motion which was carried. LAY AND CLERICAL SECRETARIES. On the motion of the Rev Canon COT terill Rev B. A. Lingard was appointed as clerical, and Mr F, G. Stedman as lay secretary. CHAIRMAN OP COMMITTEES, On the motion of Very Rev the Dean, Mr George Leslie Lee was appointed as chairman of committees for the Synod. PAPERS. The President laid on the table a number of papers. REPORT OF THE STANDING COMMITTTE. The Rev Canon Cotterill brought up the report of the standing committee, which was read. REPORT OP CATHEDRAL COMMISSION. The Very Rev the Dean brought up the report of the Cathedral commission, which was read. CHURCH WORK EXTENSION COMMITTEE. The report of this committee was laid on the table by the Very Rev the Dean On the motion of Canon Cotterill — “ The reading of this report was deferred until next sitting ” DIOCESAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE, The Very Rev the Dean laid on the table the report of this committee. HOURS OP SITTING, On the motion of the Rev Canon Cotterill, it was resolved—“ That the Synod sit at 4 p.m each day except Saturdays and Sundays.” A discussion arose as to the adjournment, whether it should be for half an hour or an hour. The Synod divided when the adjournment for the hour was agreed to. ADJOURNMENT. Notices of motion having been given, the Synod adjourned until 4 p.m. next day.
