I CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, September 22. j (Before G. L. Hellish, Esq, R.M.) j Drunk and Disorderly. —An inebriate, $ who appeared for the first time, was fined os ■ and cab-hire. i Vagrancy. —Wm. Gallagher was brought I up charged with having no lawful visible | means of support. It was shown that accused was in the habit of following drunken | men about, and it was ?also stated that robberies had been reported which were committed when it was known he was present. Accused was also in the habit of hanging about premises at night-time, and the previous evening had been seen knocking at a house, and was heard to ask for permission to sleep there. He had not done any work for the last eight months. Sentenced to three mouths’ imprisonment, with hard labor. Disobeying an Order. —David "White was charged on summons with having failed to comply with au order of the Court for payment of 10s a week towards the support of his child. Defendant had left the child in charge of a woman, and during the last month had not sent her any money. It was shown that during that time he had been out of work, and as he expressed au anxiety to pay when he was in a position to do so, his Worship adjourned the case until the 17th November.
