AMUSEMENTS.
THE LYDIA HOWARDS TROUPE,
“The Waterman” and “ Ivanhoe” were repeated on Saturday evening at the Music Hall to a good house, considering the Lingards made their first appearance the same night. Both pieces went exceedingly well, and the performers were loudly applauded by the audience. To-night the burlesque of “ II Trovatore” will be produced, concluding with the amusing comedy of “The Two Gregorys.” In the former piece the wellknown “Miserere Scene” will be sung by the company. Madame lima de Murska, with whom arrangements have been made, will appear at the Hall on Thursday evening next, supported by her great concert com• pany, and will introduce her grand operatic scenes. This talented lady has been making a most successful tour of the provinces since her last visit to Christchurch, and has arranged to give a few farewell performances previous to her departure from our shores. We feel sure her efforts will meet with that support so generously bestowed by Christchurch people when an opportunity of witnessing genuine talent presents itself.
