AMUSEMENTS.

THE LYDIA HOWARDE TROUPE. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather last evening there was a fair attendance at the Music Hall, when " The Beggar's Opera" and "How to Settle Accounts with your Laundress" constituted the evening's programme. The opera went very Avell indeed, the voices being in good form, whilst the farce was capitally rendered, and was well received by the audience. This evening " The Beggar's Opera" will be repeated for the last time, •" Chilperic" forming the bill of fare for tomorrow evening. " The Trial by Jury" and •'• Nemesis" is announced for Thursday evening, being for the benefit of Miss Lydia Howarde, a lady deserving of a bumper house at the hands of Chrjstchurch playgoers.
