MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
CRRISTCHURCH. Saturday, August 12. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R.M.) Drunk and Disorderly.—Two inebriates who appeared for the first time, were each fined ss. Margaret Dempsey, against whom there was a long list of convictions, was sentenced to twelve month's imprisonment with hard labor. ' LYTTELTON. Saturday, august 12. (Before W. Donald, Bsq, R.M.) Dkunkennbss. Alexander McKenzie, who had been arrested la3t night by c nstable Moutray for being drunk on the railway premises, was fined 10s. Assault.—Robert Coder was called on to answer a summons taken out against him by W. Johnson. The defendant did not appear, and a warrant was issued for hia arrest, the ca-:e being adjourned until Monday.
