AMUSEMENTS.

THE LYDIA HOWARDE TROUPE. The hall was again well attended on Saturday night, when " Nemesis" was played even hetter than on previous occasions. Miss Howarde was in splendid voice, and gained an encore foi her singing of, "Bid me discourse;" whilst Misses Navaro and Nye were both most enthusiastically received by the audience. The other members of the company were also well up in their respective parts, and the orchestra, which has been considerably enlarged and improved, tended to make the evening's tainment a great success. We noticed a very fine grand piano, imported from Dunedin by Mr Shepperson, which is a great improvement upon the former instrument. The same bill will be repeated this evening.
