The Cleopatra also took her departure yesterday afternoon. The ketch Emerald, Captain Whitby, for Poverty Bay, took her departure yesterday. The Ann Armytage and Star of the Mersey have cleared, and are in the stream and ready for sea. The barque Prince Alfred was yesterday berthed alongside No 2 Whart, to discharge her cargo of sugar. • The “ Auckland Star” of July 7th says the brig Kio Loge is about half laden at Te Kopua. She is bound for Shanghai. ■ The ship Carnatic is expected to leave Auckland for London tb-day. She Is one of the fleet belonging to the N.Z.S. Company. The three-masted schooner Fairlie was expected to leave the Thames on the 6th tor this port. Her cargo consists of 110,000 feet timber. The barque Lady Franklin has been stranded near the entrance of Wairoa river. She left Auckland originally for Te Kopua, to load limber for Adelaide. She is expected to be floated oil'without any serious damage. The Lady Franklin was owned by Messrs Lord and Hughes, of Melbourne, and is insured in that city. The ketch Clematis left Auckland for Timaruon the 4th, timber laden. The smart topsail schooner Peri, Captain Mazitelli, left Picton on July 6th, at 8 p.m, with light variable winds; put into Port Underwood on the Bth, and left again on the 10th; passed the Kaikouras at 8 a.m. July 11th; experienced northerly winds till arrival at 6 a.m. yaeterday. The fore-and-aft schooner Minnehaha, Captain Smith, left the Thames on June 28th, the wind blowing hard from the S.E. On June 30th put into Mercury Island for shelter from a gale irom the eastward; left again on the 31st; rounded East Cape July Ist, and experienced favorable winds till off Cape Palliser, July 2nd, when she had to heave to for three days, the wind blowing hard from the S.S.E; theuce light southerly till July 10th, whence had north-easterly winds till arrival on Tuesday evening. The captain reports passing the Flirt off Cape Colville on June 31st, bound for the Thames from this port. The Union Company’s s.s. Hawea, Captain Wheeler, arrived in harbor yesterday morning at 930 a.m. We are indebted to Mr Newman, the purser, for tiles and report. Left Onehunga at 10.30 a.m. on the Bth, and anchored (inside the heads at noon; cleared the bar at 9.30 a.m. on the 91h, and reached New Plymouth at 8.30 p.m; left at 10.20 p.m. and arrived at Nelson at 11 a.m. on the 10th; left at 10p.m. and reached Pieton at 6 a.m. on the 11th; left at 7 a.m., arrived at Wellington at noon; left at 430 p.m and arrived as above. The Hawea discharged 15 tons of cargo and sailed South at 8,30 p.m. yesterday. The favorite little s.s Maori has completed another trip round the island. She was signalled at 3.30 p.m yesterday, and at 4-15 was moored at the screw-pile jetty. Left Port Chalmers at 5 p.m on 2nd with fresh S.W. breeze and rain and hail, arrived at Bluff at 12-30 p m next day; left at, 8.30, wind still fresh from the southward, passed Milford Sound at 10 p.m on the 4th, a heavy sea running, arrived off Martin’s flay at 2 a.m sth, ran in at daylight, but were unable to land on account of heavy sea; proceeded to Big Bay, but sea was slill too heavy to admit of landing ; was going out wheu observed signals from the shore, and presently a boat came alongside and reported that the barque Czarewitch had been run ashore in a sinking condition; the captain and crew’, fourteen in all, then came aboard with luggage, and the sea having then moderated, were enabled to land Martin’s Bay mail and stores; left at 11.45 a.m for Jackson’s Bay, arriving at 4.30 p.m; left at 7 p.m for Hokitika with light wind and thick weather, arrived oil' Hokitika at 10 a.m 6th, anchored at 11.40; there was a heavy sea on bar, and the Waipara tendered the Maori at 8 30 a.m on 7th; left for Greymouth at 9,15 a.m, and reached wharf there at 11.30 a in; left at 11.30 a.m on Bth for Westport, arrived off bar at 5.30 p.m, made fast to wharf at 9.30 p.m; left at 11.45 a.m next morning, reaching Nelson at daylight on loth; left at 11 a.m on llth and arrived as above, experiencing strong south-easter in the Straits.
