changed places with Davie, who was running fourth. Ford then dropped behind Hall, who showed well ahead, and Kawson quickly collared Ford also. Hall at this time was leading by about 30 yards, Gray being close on to Davie and Ford. Davie succeeded in overhauling the latter, and ran third place again for some distance. During the sixth round Gray overhauled Ford and Davie, who dropped oat, and the race now became most exciting, as Rawson was gaining on Hall and Gray on both of them. After commencing the last round, it was thought that Hall would win, as he was holding his distance with Rawson for some time. Rawson collared Hall on entering the straight for the last time, but was himself immediately afterwards headed by Gray. Rawson finding Gray leaving him behind, put on a splendid spurt, and rushed alongside of him as he reached the tape, the result being a dead beat, Hall coming in a good third.
