ARRIVAL OF THE EUTERPE. This ship, consigned to Messrs Dalgety, Nichols and Co. arrived yesterday, at 4 p.m , and anchored oft the Breakwater, having been towed in by the s.s. Wanganui. The vessel has had a rather long passage of 101 days from Plymouth. Captain Phillips informs us that she left Plymouth on January Ist, and had strong S.W. winds till the 4th, when she. was off Scilly. The wind then cnine from the S.K., and remained fair till the N.E. trades were met with in latitude 32 N. on the 12th ; passed Equator on 27th. The S.E. trades were met with in 2 N.. and were carried to 21 S , being lost on February 6th j thence to meridian of Cape had light winds, Passed Cape on February 27th, ran down easting between 45 and 47 S, winds being exceptionally light, Weather continued moderate to March 30th, when there was a heavy sale from S.S.W., carrying away two lower top-ails, the ship being then iu 10 S. and 135 E.j light weather from thence to the Snares, which were mide on the afternoon of April Bth; passed Otago Heads Monday last, at ll a.m„ wind being strong S.S. W., made Banks Peninnula at 1.30 a.m, yesterday, and at noon the s.s Wanganui steamed out to the ship and took her in tow, bringher to present anchorage. The ship belorgs to Messr.i Shaw, Seville and Co, and is in raitlivg order, and is well known in the New Zealand trade. Brings a large and valuable cargo. Her commander, Captain Phillips, was here in the Leichhardt some years ago. An illuminated address was presented to the captain by the saloon passengers. No sickness was experienced throughout the passage, which though rather a long seems to. have been a very pleasant one.
