♦> —— CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, Art!a 10. (Reforc G. L. Mellish, Esq ) Drunk axi> Disorderly.—Hugh Trayere, for this offence, was lined 10s. Edward Stevens, similarly charged, was fined ss.
Obscene Language.—Patrick Butler was charged with using obscene language, and being very disorderly . Fined 40s. Thomas Dowling, for being drunk and disorderly, and using obscene language, was fined 20s.' Wijfe Desertion.-—Valentine Shott was brought up on warrant for neglecting to contribute to the support of his wife. Prisoner said he was now living with his wife. He would pay the arrears due to the Government. Case remanded for a month, with the understanding that he would pay what was due.
Embezzlement. —Normal F. Marley, late a sergeant of police, was brought up ou remand, charged with embezzlement. Sergeaut Pratt asked for a further remand, as the Provincial Solicitor was out of town. Remanded until to-morrow (Tuesday) morning, bail tp be renewed,
