SITTINGS IN CHAMBERS. Friday, March 31. (Before his Honor Mr Justice Johnston.) His Honor sat in the Court Chambers at 11 a.m. RE WILL OP JAMES PEARSON, DECEASED. Mr O’Neill applied for an order issuing probate herein to Mary Ann Pearson, as exccutr'x of the said will. His Honor made the order as prayed. RE WILL OF THOS. WEAVERS, DECEASED, Mr Garrick applied for an orJer for leave to issue probate to Caroline Weavers, as executrix. His Honor made the order. RE WILL OP WM. LAWRENCE, DECEASED, On the application of Mr O’Neill, His Honor made an order granting probate to R. Sutherland and H. Sawtell, as two of the executors named, reserving leave to the widow as executrix to come in and apply. RE HUGH WRIGHT, A LUNATIC. Mr Wynn Williams applied for an order confirming the Registrar’s certificate in this matter. His Honor made the order as prayed. RE WILL OP JOHN DYER, DECEASED. In this case probate was applied for to B. J Dyer, as sMe executrix. Mr Wynn Williams, for Mr Duncan applied. The case stood over for the filing of an affidavit of attestation. RE WILL OP EDWARD SHARPE, DECEASED. Mr Wynn Williams, for Mr Duncan, ap-. plied for an order for leave to issue probate to George Pitts, as sole executor, His Honor made the order,
RE WILL OP MARIA THOMSON, DECEASED, Mr Fereday applied for probate in this case, to be granted to Henry Jacobs, as one of the executors, reserving leave to the Bishop of Christchurch as the other executor to come in and prove. His Honor made the order as prayed. CRIMINAL SITTINGS. Monday, April 3. (Before His Honor Mr Justice Johnston, at 10 a.m.) The April quarterly sittings of the Supreme Court, in its criminal jurisdiction, will open at 10 a.m. on Monday next. The following is the CALENDAR. Regina v Wm. Allen—Larceny from the person. Regina v Arthur Upjohn—Bigamy, Regina v Michael Galvin—Burglary, Regina v Thomas Robert Shaw—Obtaining goods and money under false pretences, Reginav James McKinlay—Larceny. Regina v John Bay—Failing to appear on recognizance. Regina v William Foote—Attempt to commit a rape, Regina v Philip Bourgeois—Forgery; Regina v James Bassingthwaite—Violent assault. Regina v W. J. Leigh—Larceny. There are also two other committals, but the depositions have not been forwarded from the Court below.
