TTNITED METHODIST FREE I.J CHURCH, St Asaph street. SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. In connection with the above, Two Sermons will be preached on Sunday, Feb 20th: in the Morning, at 11 o’clock, by the Rev M. Baxter ; and in the Evening, at 6.30, by the Rev S. Macfarlane. In the Afternoon there will be a Service of Song delivered, the Readings to be given by the Rev S. Macfarlane. A collection after each service in aid of the school funds. On Tuesday, the 22nd inst., the usual Tea Meeting will be held. Tea on the tables at 6 p.m. After which there will be a Public Meeting, Rev M. Baxter in the chair. Addresses will be delivered by several ministers and friends. Tickets, Is 6d each, may be had of the PATENT FOR A GOLD DREDGING MACHINE AND BORING MACHINE. HIS IS TO NOTIFY that JULES LAFONTAINE, of Cromwell, in the Province of Otago, Miner, did, on the 13th day of November, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary’s Office, in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of the said invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed; and that by reason of such deposit the said invention is protected and secured to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence next ensuing. And I do further notify that the said Jules Lafontaine has given notice in writing at iny office of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said invention, and that 1 have appointed Friday, the s,th daj of May next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and ail objections : and I do all persons\aving an interest |n opposing the grant °f lj#ch Letters Patent to leave, o?i or before tlg||st> day of. hfpy next, at my ffihce in Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise', they will be predicted from urging they same.
