Passengers—saloon: From Melbourne, Mr and Mrs Davis, Mesdames Glass, Paul, Lewis, Messrs Bains, Little, Lazarus, M'Mullen, Maiohan. From Coast—Mr Kerr, Mr Watt. Steerage— "From Melbourne, Mr and Mrs Wallace and child, Mr Bennett. From Coast—Messrs J. Davis and T. Ranskin, and 24 for other ports. CLEARED. December 22—Arawata, 3.5, 623 tons, Underwood, for Melbourne via North. December 22—Southern Cross, barque, 323 tons, Boon, for Newcastle, in ballast. December 22- Fawn, brig, 216 tons, Brownell, for Newcastle, in ballast. SAILED. December 22—Courier, ketch, 31 tons, Sinclair, for Pigeon Bay. December 22—Linnet, ketch, 20 tons, Smith, for Pigeon Bay. December 22—Blackwall, ketch, 26 tons, Calvert, for Patea. The new s.s. Arawata, Capt. Underwood, arrived at 10.40 a.m. this morning, after a passage of about 15 hours 25 minutes from Port Chalmers. She is a magnificent vessel in all respects fully equal to the Ringarooma.
