♦ ■ CHKISTCHURCH. Tuesday, December 14. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, E.M.] Dkunk and Disorderly.—Robert Toppin, was fined 5s ; Hugh Henry, also charged with indecency, 40s, and Maurice O'Connell, ss. Wike Desertion.—Daniel Austenson was brought up on warrant charged with deserting his wife Paulina Austenson on the 13th November last. The prisoner had been apprehended by constable M'Gorman in Lyttelton. Inspector Feast said Mrs Austens' n wished to withdraw the charge, as her husband had promised to live with her again. The prosecutrix could not speak any English, and the case was adjourned to enable an interpreter to be present. The case was eventually allowed to be withdrawn.
